Groundbreaking For The Maritime Training Facility and Blessing Of The New Chelsea Ship Management & Marine Services Corp. Warehouse

Chelsea Ship Management & Marine Services Corp. (CSMMSC) Officer-in-Charge Chryss Alfonsus V. Damuy, and Meridian International Maritime Training Center, Inc. officials participated in the ground-breaking for the new Meridian Maritime Training Center at Phoenix Petroterminals and Industrial Park Corp. at Calaca, Batangas. The event was held on June 18, 2016.

The new Maritime Training Center will have classrooms with the latest training equipment, a swimming pool for safety and lifeboat launching courses, and a fire-fighting facility for courses to be offered not only to maritime students but to other parties in need of such trainings. The Maritime Training Facility is expected to be completed by last quarter of 2016 and operational by 2017.

Simultaneous with the groundbreaking ceremonies was the blessing of the new 1,050 sq.m. warehouse of CSMMSC and the 300 sq.m. laboratory for Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. (PPPI). The warehouse will be used to house equipment, machineries and spare parts of the Chelsea Shipping Group and various quality assurance and testing requirements of PPPI.

In his speech, Officer –In-Charge Chryss Alfonsus V. Damuy said that he was glad for this joint venture and wholeheartedly welcomed Meridian International Maritime Training Center, Inc. to the Chelsea Shipping Group. He also said that he was looking forward to more joint venture projects not only for the Shipping group but also for Udenna Corporation.

The groundbreaking ceremony and blessing of the Calaca warehouse were attended by employees of the Chelsea Shipping Group, Phoenix Petroterminals and Industrial Park and Maritime Training Center, Inc. Father Richard Bolaton officiated the blessing rites
